A former West Hollywood resident who now lives in Lehighton is celebrating the release of her new comic book series.
Duplicant, a story set during a pandemic of organ failure, is out now in a comic book store near you.
Karla Nappi describes her new comic book series as "Minority Report" meets "Repo the Genetic Opera." The thriller focuses on a scientist who creates duplicate organs that save humanity from the organ failure contagion. Nappi who has worked as a TV writer says she's excited to see the project come to fruition.
"When you work in TV sometimes what you write never gets made. It'll sit in a drawer, so this is awesome to see something I actually created be made for people to be able to buy, so I'm hoping everyone loves it when they get it."
Nappi says she got a lot of support from the community and other writers and is happy to help anyone local looking to get into making comic books. To purchase a copy of Dupilcant, call your local comic book store. If they don't have it, they can order it on Previews World. To contact Nappi, visit her website at karlanappi.com.
