The Pocono Chamber of Commerce celebrates kids in our region who have overcome great adversity.

The special ceremony took place this afternoon over zoom. Eight high school seniors were recognized for their academic achievements while facing unique challenges. One senior says he wouldn't have made it through high school if it weren't for the teachers who had his back.

"Before I was in foster care, I was with my parents. I wasn't planning on graduating high school, I was planning on dropping out so I could work and help them money wise and financially, but being in foster care and being in this new school really made a difference and really helped me move forward to where I am today," Will Cordero, East Stroudsburg North Awardee, said.

State officials like Representatives Rosemary Brown and Maureen Madden, area businesses and teachers all wished the students well on their future endeavors.
