Children gather to learn about flight and have fun at the Carbon County Environmental Educational Center in Summit hill.

Today's activity had children make and design their own kites, putting them in action. It's all part of the center's yearly event "Kids Week." After a year of virtual events, the Environmental Education Center was ready to welcome kids back.

"It's so fun to see people again coming out to our programs. Especially the kids. We missed all the school kids this past year... Hello.... We missed all the school kids this year so it is great to see these kids!"

"It is super fun and you will meet lots and lots of friends."

Besides making kites, participants played with rockets and other gadgets. The center brought in their "flight king" to teach the children how and why things fly.
