The Valor Clinic focuses its attention on homeless vets, but supports anyone who needs help.

Their stand down events happen four times each year.

A hot meal, clothing, toiletries, and non-perishable food items are handed out. One to two hundred people usually show up for the help, but this event Saturday, August 14th is expected to draw about 400 people to the American Fire Company in Lansford as they add a little extra for the kids.

"We really love taking care of the school kids and making sure they have all their back to school essentials while also helping the parents to send their kids off to school on the right foot."

The stand down will run Saturday, August 14th from 10am to 1pm. Of course the traditional support for veterans is always available at the stand downs. The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs will be on hand to make sure vets know what state benefits they may be entitled to.
