Hospice patients in East Stroudsburg now have a beautiful and tranquil setting to enjoy.

The Monroe County Hospice House on East Brown Street held a ribbon cutting for its new garden today. The hospice house offers end of life care when managing a loved one's symptoms at home is no longer feasible. The healing garden was created to provide a retreat for the patients and their families.

"We don’t have anything else like this. There’s certain people when in end of life, they really have no place else to go and families need a break too. A lot of times they can’t take care of them at home or to provide respite care. The garden is just wonderful. It’s going to be a nice place for the families to meditate, do whatever," Mark Primrose, Former Board Member, said.

Lehigh Valley Health Network along with funding secured by Senator Mario Scavello and donations from the community helped to make the garden possible.
