A Monroe County club with a green thumb gathers indoors for the first time since the pandemic began. The Pocono Garden Club met plan its event for next year.

The club has been meeting outside at Mountain View Park all summer where social distancing can be practiced. The president tells us it was great to see everyone really together again sharing their love of gardening. To mark the special occasion they brought a guest to the Monroe County Conservation Center in Bartonsville to talk about container gardening.

"It's more compact and easier for some people if they don't have a space to have a garden outside. If they live in an apartment, or a townhouse or something it gives them a chance to have a little garden and plant different things flowers or vegetables," Nell Cadue, said.

In addition to perfecting gardening skills, the club also gets together to raise funds for nearby environmental centers like Kettle Creek.
