Volunteer firefighters in the Mahoning Valley are thanking supporters for helping them acquire a new truck.
People living in the agricultural community understand the power and value of volunteerism.
So they're thankful to have acquired brush truck 641. The vehicle is an all hazard, all weather vehicle ready to protect that rural heritage.
"We don't have hydrants. This vehicle has a 12,050 gallon pump on it. So we'll be able to access water supplies that were previously inaccessible plus allow us to get off road, do firefighting, rescues so on and so forth."
The new brush truck will be dedicated this Saturday during the fire companies "Celebration of Community" event. It's a good old fashioned party with plenty of food, a corn hole tournament, and a 5K run and walk.
