A two mile walk will raise money to end Alzheimer's.

The walk is the Alzheimer's associations largest fundraiser of the year.

They're raising money for research, care consultations, and support groups for people living with the disease and their caregivers. The most meaningful part of the day happens during opening ceremonies in their "Promise Garden."

"We have a garden of pinwheel flowers that folks can choose from. Each color represents their connection to the disease. Purple being - I've lost someone. Blue being I'm actually living with the disease. Yellow is a caregiver for someone living with the disease and orange is a general supporter of the Alzheimer's Association and their mission to end Alzheimer's."

They hope to raise $30,000 in the walk this year.

It takes place this Sunday, October 3rd at Mauch Chunk Lake Park. You can pre-register online or at 10am the day of the event.
