Long-time Wayne County voters are honored in a special ceremony. The residents recognized have been voting in the November general election for 50 years in a row.

40 residents made the list with about half of them at yesterday's ceremony in the County Courthouse in Honesdale. Many of them started voting in 1971. Some say they have voted every year because of their parents.

"My father ran for local office, my mother was a committee woman, she was vice chairman of the republican party... she then worked in the bureau of elections office... so not being registered to vote was not an option in our house, it was something that we all did," Debra Fulmer, said.

Wayne County officials say this is one of the largest groups to be honored at the annual voter hall of fame induction ceremony.
