It's time to get into the fall season with a creative project.

Delaware Water Gap businesses and residents are asked to get involved in a "Scarecrow Contest". All scarecrows must be finished and registered by Halloween. You can pick up and drop off your registration form at "Asparagus Sunshine". Organizers say it generates another reason for visitors to explore the borough and visit local shops.

"It's a way for all of us to get out and about and walking through town. Also, it helps with tourism that we have something to look forward to every year, our town is based on tourism," Lauren Chamberlain, Asparagus Sunshine Owner, said.

Prizes will be given out for the scariest, prettiest, most traditional and unusual scarecrows. An awards party is being held on November 7th at the Sycamore Grille.
