Jim Thorpe's brand new girl scout troop was offered a once in a lifetime opportunity.

It's something they'll remember for the rest of their lives.

The PPL Center asked Troop 30903 if they wanted to be color guard for the US and Canadian women's hockey team exhibition. In preparation for the big moment, the troop was shown the correct flag order, how to stand, hold the flags, and walk correctly.

"I feel like this is important because it gets the girls out in front of a bunch of people. They picked small town Jim Thorpe, a brand new troop to have this place of such high honor."

There was initial shock about being asked to be color guard, but the troop was ecstatic about the opportunity. There was a whole lot of nervousness with all eyes on them, but they had the confidence to get out there and represent the Girl Scouts of Jim Thorpe.
