This Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The federal holiday gives us time to reflect on work that still needs to be done for racial equality.

It's a time to take action on civil rights issues across the globe. The Allentown Art Museum is starting the celebration early on Sunday with a community mural the whole family can be part of.

"In the spirit of togetherness unity and solidarity. We are all going to be working on a collaborative project where each person completes a small piece of the puzzle that assembles into a much larger picture inspired by Martin Luther King Juniors Vision."

There will also be book circles. A live band and couch discussions focusing on where we are today in relation to Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream of breaking down barriers.

We're going to be engaging in conversations that allow for us all to be free and express ourselves in a creative way

The family celebration at the Allentown Art Museum takes place on Sunday from 11am to 4pm. They'll share material virtually on Monday.
