Originally from York County, Pennsylvania, Samantha Mullen wanted a change of scenery and moved to Palmerton. She graduated from Wilkes University with a bachelor’s degree in communications. After graduating in May of 2025, Samantha was fortunate to start at News 13 in July of 2025.

During her time at Wilkes, Samantha focused heavily on multi-media journalism, broadcast production, and public relations. Outside of the classroom, Samantha participated in the school’s TV station as a sports anchor. She loved covering all the university’s sports and highlighting Division III players while being a student-athlete herself for the women’s lacrosse team. Samantha also found a love for reporting local news stories while at college. Covering local farmers’ markets to presidential elections.

During her time off, Samantha enjoys spending time outside, whether it’s hiking a trail or sitting out with a good book. She is also a big movie nerd. She loves all things Marvel and Star Wars. She even named her cat Kenobi after the Star Wars character. If you see her around town, don’t be afraid to say hello and share any story ideas you have!
